7 cosy finishing touches for your serene bathroom renovation

There’s been a move away from minimal, stark-white bathrooms throughout 2026, and that trend will continue into 2027.

Instead, the focus is on creating a cosy sanctuary – a bathroom to unwind in, away from digital noise and everyday stress. People are craving a comforting and relaxing ambiance – think earthy colours, inviting textures, and warm-toned natural materials like wood and clay.

So let’s take a look at a few ways to add this inviting aesthetic to your bathroom, whether it’s a newly finished renovation or a quick weekend refresh.

1. Tactile textiles for a soft touch

The easiest way to move away from a stark, clinical-feeling bathroom is to add cosy textiles.

Opt for thick, plush bathmats – or even a small rug – in earthy tones like rust, red, or olive green. Try to go for cotton, which is better for the environment than synthetic fabrics, but still easy to wash.

Treat yourself some luxe towels in complementing colours and patterns too. Textured waffle towels always feel high-end, or choose super-soft and thick 100% cotton towels.
